1. Who we are

VORA is run by João Gabriel Pereira Guimarães, a sole trader in Ireland, trading as VORA ("VORA", "we", "us"). You can reach us at support@vora.company.

2. Who these terms are for

These terms apply when a restaurant, café, bar or other food business ("you") uses VORA: the free preview, a paid plan, the menu editor and your live menu. By choosing a plan, you confirm that you're acting for that business and that you're allowed to agree to these terms on its behalf.

VORA is a business service. Consumer rights that only apply to private individuals, such as the 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases, don't apply.

Guests who scan your QR code and open your menu don't agree to these terms. How we handle their information is explained in our privacy policy.

3. The free preview

The preview turns a sample of your menu into a VORA menu automatically, so you can see how it would look. It is free and you don't need to give us any payment details.

4. Your plan and the setup

A VORA plan includes:

How we build your menu. After you subscribe, you send us your full menu, your dish photos and your allergen guide. We build your menu from them and send you a link to check every dish, price and allergen. We put it live once you've approved it. Nothing is shown to guests before then.

Photos. Your menu uses the photos you send us. If you don't have suitable photos, we can arrange a photo shoot in Ireland and in Rio de Janeiro. Photo shoots aren't included in the plan: we quote the price before booking, and in other Brazilian states they're quoted separately.

Changes. When you ask us to change your menu, we make the change as soon as we reasonably can. Changes you make yourself in the editor go live when you press Publish.

5. Prices and payment

If we change our prices, we'll email you at least 30 days before. The new price applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

6. Cancelling

You can cancel any time in your editor (Restaurant → Plan & billing), or by contacting us. There's no contract beyond the period you've already paid for.

7. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries again over the following days and you can update your card in your editor. Your menu stays online for 14 days from the first failed payment. If the payment still hasn't gone through after 14 days, guests see a friendly "menu unavailable" page instead of your menu. Your editor keeps working, and your menu comes back as soon as the payment succeeds.

8. After your plan ends

When your plan ends, your menu stays online for 14 more days. After that, guests see the "menu unavailable" page.

We don't delete your menu straight away. We keep your account, dishes, photos and reviews for 24 months after your plan ends, so you can start again without redoing the work. After 24 months we delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner, or to send you a copy of your menu and photos, at any time.

Your menu's web address isn't given to another business for at least 24 months after your plan ends.

9. Your menu and allergen information

You decide what your menu says, and you are responsible for it. In particular:

You keep ownership of your menu content, logo and photos. You give us permission to store, copy, adapt and show them to the public for as long as we provide the service, and afterwards for as long as we keep them under section 8. We'll only use your menu in our own marketing if you agree.

10. Guest reviews and menu stats

Guests can rate dishes and leave a short comment without an account. We don't edit reviews, but we may remove reviews that are abusive, unlawful, unrelated to the dish, or spam. If you think a review breaks these rules, contact us and we'll look at it. You and your staff must not review your own dishes.

Menu stats are anonymous counts, such as how many times your menu was opened and which dishes were viewed. They don't identify guests.

11. Our service and your web address

We work to keep your menu online at all times, but we can't promise the service will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or problems with our hosting provider. We'll fix problems as quickly as we reasonably can.

We improve VORA over time. We won't remove a main feature of your plan during a period you've paid for without telling you first.

Your menu's web address stays the same while you have a plan, so your printed QR codes keep working. If we ever move VORA to a new domain, we'll keep your old address forwarding to your menu.

12. Your account and fair use

13. Who owns what

VORA's software, design and brand belong to us. While your plan is active, you may use them to show your menu. Your menu content belongs to you, as explained in section 9.

14. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law doesn't allow to be limited.

Apart from that:

15. Suspension and ending the service

We may suspend your menu or editor if you seriously break these terms, for example by publishing unlawful content, or if payment is still outstanding after the 14 days in section 7. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

We may stop providing VORA, or end your plan, by giving you at least 30 days' notice. In that case we refund the unused part of any period you've paid for and send you a copy of your menu and photos.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.

17. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland deal with any dispute. If something goes wrong, please contact us first: most problems can be sorted out quickly.
