The short version
- We only use cookies and browser storage that VORA needs to work. The law doesn't require us to ask for these.
- We don't use advertising cookies. Our visit statistics (Plausible) don't use cookies either.
- Visit statistics only start after you click Accept. You can change your choice any time with .
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Browsers also have similar storage, called local storage and session storage. We describe all of them here, because the same rules apply.
Needed for the site to work
These are always on, because the feature you're using can't work without them.
| Name | What it does | Type | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| mfe | Keeps a restaurant signed in to its menu editor | Cookie | 30 days, or until you sign out |
| mfo | Links your browser to your order while you pay, so the next page can show your login link | Cookie | 7 days |
| mfc | Keeps VORA staff signed in to our customer records | Cookie | 30 days |
| menufy-consent | Remembers your cookie choice, including whether visit statistics are on | Local storage | 6 months |
| menufy-keep, menufy-test | Remember the details you typed in the "Keep this menu" form if you go to the payment page and come back | Session storage | Until you close the tab |
| menufy-editor:… | Keeps unsaved changes in the menu editor if you lose your connection | Local storage | Until they're saved |
| menufy:…:reviews, menufy-device | On a restaurant's menu: remembers the dishes you rated, and a random identifier so you can change your rating later | Local storage | Until you clear your browser data |
On the payment page
When you pay for a plan, you go to a page run by Stripe, our payment provider. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process the payment and prevent fraud. They are covered by Stripe's cookie policy.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, hosted in the European Union, to count visits to our pages and a few actions: starting a free preview, starting a payment and signing in to the editor. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It only runs after you click Accept in the cookie banner. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the site works the same either way.
We send Plausible the page address without any codes in it (no access codes, payment references or preview links), the address of the site you came from, and your browser's standard details. Plausible doesn't keep your IP address: it turns it into a code that changes every day, and we only see totals.
Changing your choice
Use , at the bottom of every page, to change your choice. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser's settings. More about how we handle information is in our privacy policy.
